An apparatus that comprises: a receiver configured to receive a request for a service; a processor coupled to the receiver and configured to: obtain data associated with the request, process the data,;determine parameters based on the data, and perform a risk evaluation based on the parameters; and a transmitter coupled to the processor and configured to transmit a response to the request, wherein the response is based on the risk evaluation. A method that comprises: receiving a request for an electronic financial service; obtaining data associated with the request; determining parameters based on the data; calculating a risk score based on the parameters; and sending a response to the request based on the risk score.
