An electric drive for a processing tool, in particular for a rivet setting appliance, has an electric motor connected to an actuating element that is linearly displaceable in an axial direction. A damping element that acts in the axial direction is arranged between the electric motor and the actuating element for impact decoupling of the electric motor from the actuating element.
