摘要

The main reasons for increased electric power consumption in the machine-manufacturing industry are examined. The relationships between the power efficiency of technological processes and the character of the load superposed on an electric-motor shaft are revealed. The experimental results of the designed system of automatic control and reactive-power compensation able to significantly decrease the power consumed by an electric motor are presented.
