METHOD AND INSTALLATION FOR THE DIRECT PRODUCTION OF ELECTRICITY FROM SEA-FLOOR WATER CONTAINING SULFIDES

The method and installation use a renewable energy source. While working, they don’t release harmful emissions in the water and air. They work continuously, the power is finely adjusted, fuel and other consumables are not used, the sea is cleaned of dissolved sulfides, and the dissolved oxygen is increased in the surface layer. Sea water containing sulfides is pumped from the sea-floor layer, from which anolyte is obtained. Sea water free of sulfides is pumped from the surface layer, from which catholyte is obtained. The anolyte and catholyte are fed to a fuel sell, at whose poles electrical energy is produced. Part of the obtained electrical energy is used to power the installation, and the remaining part is supplied to the external electrical network. The process of oxidation of the sulfides into sulphates in the fuel sell does not generate heat energy and the conversion of the chemical energy into electrical energy is practically complete.
