Recombinant antibodies associated with gangliosides and their use in diagnosis and treatment of tumors

In the present invention, there is described a chimeric monoclonal antibody derived from the murine anti-idiotypic monoclonal antibody 1E10 that recognizes murine MAb P3 and produced by the hybridoma cell line with deposit number ECACC 97112901. This chimeric monoclonal antibody comprises constant regions derived from human innumoglobulins and specifically humanized variable regions of the 1E10 antibody. There are further described cell lines that express both the chimeric and humanized antibodies as well as pharmaceutical compositions containing such antibodies.
