Plant growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) play a vital role in crop protection, growth promotion and in the improvement of soil health. Some well known PGPR strains are Pseudomonas, Bacillus, Azospirillum , Rhizobium and Serratia species. Recently developing areas of PGPR usage include forest regeneration and phytoremediation of contaminated soils. Isolation of the specific strains of the bacteria fortheproduction of biofertilizers is carried out. Optimization of media for the enhanced growth of the plant growth promoting rhizobacteria is carried out. From the results production of PGPR has achieved in the part of plant growth enhancement and plant defense mechanism the conversion of IAA by IAA oxidase enhances the growth of plant at the same time the conversion of IAA into anthranilic acid by IAA oxidase gives more defense capacity and also more medicinal quality to the plant which has been treated by bio fertilizer.
