An apparatus/kit and method for teaching and designing mechanical structures is presented. Each piece is carefully designed, easy to assemble and very flexible. There are several precision components in many varieties including Links, Shafts, Spur Gears, Bevel Gears, Worm Gears, Racks, Geneva Mechanisms, Oldham couplings, Universal Joints, Pulleys etc. Design engineers, SPM manufacturers and students can use this apparatus to solve critical design problems and check the suitability of a selected mechanism for the proposed application. When presented with the parts, the user can then assemble the pieces to model the desired structure and determine the design's feasibility and robustness.
