METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR AUTOMATED TESTING OF GROUP OF DEVICES BY GENERATING TEST SEQUENCES OF COMMANDS

Invention herewith described refers to the method and system for the automated testing of group of devices by generating the test sequences of commands based on the selected combination of the commands through the control unit. The method designed in such way is implemented in the test system for serial generation of the unique test cases by the creation of the map of the selected commands for certain functionality of the multimedia devices. The method involves a combination of the so-called IR codes (IR signals are the signals of the electromagnetic spectrum whose wavelength is larger than the wavelength of the visible light spectrum, and the frequency is smaller) which the user selects in order to achieve the desired function of the multimedia devices - TV, DVD, Set Top Box etc, which is then used as the starting test sequence to avoid manual re-entering of the combinations of commands with the remote control. The system thus provides a technique that automates the testing process and increases the speed and accuracy. The current systems have been offering the series of the software applications for storing the IR codes of the individual commands, but they have not implemented the combinations of commands and their further use in the field of testing and quality assurance.
