The invention relates to power engineering, in particular to power-technological boilers. According to the method for operation of the boiler, fuel and air are supplied to the burner (1), with burning those in fuel chamber (6), to this one the burner (1) is adjoined, with formation of the combustion products. Combustion products are taken off from the fuel chamber (2) to the afterburning chamber (6), there air is added to burning products, with division into two flows. The first flow of the combustion products is supplied to the heating surface (7) of the heat exchanger, heat is taken off from the combustion products, with discharge of those from the afterburning chamber (6) to the branch pipe for discharge of the combustion products (9). The second flow of the combustion products is taken out from the afterburning chamber (6) to bypass (8) with following discharge of those from the bypass (6) to the branch pipe for discharge of the combustion products (9). At that composition and temperature of the combustion products present in the branch pipe for discharge of combustion products (9) are controlled. Besides that, supply of cooling air to the second flow of the combustion products is carried out, this is taken out from the afterburning chamber to the bypass (8). The invention provides for addition of cooling air to the bypass placed both at outside and inside of the heating chamber. The invention promote decrease of temperature load on the bypass (8), extension of the range of loads to the power-technological boiler, stabilization of temperature and composition of combustion products that are taken out from the power-technological boiler.
