The present invention provides a non-heating type apparatus for inhaling flavors that has a hollow cylindrical shape. The apparatus comprises: a holder (2) having an air introduction hole (16) at a front end and an inhalation hole (4) at a rear end; and a flavor cartridge (30) miming inside the holder (2) from the air introduction hole (16) toward the inhalation hole (4) along the axis of the holder (2). The flavor cartridge (30) houses a flavor-generating material (32) which contains a granular tobacco material and the flavor-generating material (32) is maintained in a predetermined required state of compression.
