The invention relates to physics, in particular to methods of investigation and diagnostics of solid body structures. A method of photo-acoustic study of samples is in the fact that the sample is placed in a photo-acoustic cell and is illuminated with modulated light, this leads to periodical heating of its surface. Varying gas pressure produced by heating is transferred by connection channel to microphone chamber. Part of light diffused by the sample is channeled in the walls of the connection channel and is taken out from the cell. The device for realization of the method is claimed as well. The invention provides increase of accuracy and relative sensitivity of the photo-acoustic method of investigation and construction of the device.
