The invention relates to a field of laser instrument making, in particular to producing crystalline matrices which can be used in the manufacturing of the active elements of lasers of near infrared region with a discrete frequency tuning. The crystalline material for the active elements of lasers of near infrared region with a discrete frequency tuning on the basis of calcium orthovanadate crystal doped with neodymium, which further comprises an admixture of lithium and generates a substitutional solid solution CaLi(VO):Nd where 0.3x1, and the content of neodymium is 0.5-5 wt.%. The material supplements range of media on the basis of oxide crystalline compounds doped with rare earth ions for use as active elements for lasers of near infrared region with a discrete frequency tuning.
