METHOD FOR DIAGNOSING THICKNESS OF PARANEPHRAL FAT IN PATIENTS AT HIGH TOTAL CARDIOVASCULAR RISK

The method for diagnosing the thickness of the paranephral fat in the patients at high total cardiovascular risk comprises echography with convex 3.5 MHz converter. The thickness of the paranephral fat of the right kidney is measured in supine position at the maximal breath-in with the probe locating in parallel to the right costal arc provided that both poles of the right kidney are visualized distinctly in the longitudinal scanning. The thickness of the paranephral fat is measured between the posterior surface of the right kidney and the edge of the right hepatic lobe at the site of the conventional line passed in perpendicular to the axis connecting both poles of the kidney in its lower third.
