METHOD FOR PREDICTING DEVELOPMENT OF PARTIAL ATROPHY OF OPTIC NERVE DUE TO INFLAMMATION IN UVEITIS

The method for predicting the development of the partial atrophy of the optic nerve due to the inflammation in uveitis comprises the assay for interleukin-10 in the tears. In addition, matrix metalloproteinase-9 is assayed in blood serum. The content of matrix metalloproteinase-9 exceeding 98.6 ng/mL is predictive of the development of the partial atrophy of the optic nerve.
