METHOD FOR ESTIMATING GRADE OF LUNG HYPOPLASIA IN FETUS

The method for estimating the grade of lung hypoplasia in fetus comprises the measurement of the lung area according to the data of sonographic scanning at the level of four-chamber heart section. The ratio of the area obtained to 50-percentile value of the corresponding gestation term is calculated in percents. When the ratio is below 30 %, the severe lung hypoplasia is considered. The ratio within 30-59 % corresponds to the moderately severe hypoplasia. The ratio within 60-75 % corresponds to the moderate hypoplasia.
