A method for quantitation of flavonoids in top part of Bupleurum aureum by means of spectrophotometry of water-alcohol extraction of raw material in ultraviolet spectrum at addition of aluminum chloride and acetic acid and determination of optical density of the sample under investigation at wavelength 411 nm, compared to the standard solution of rutin, at that as plant raw material the top part of Bupleurum aureum is used, its water-alcohol extraction is obtained at boiling on water bath with ethyl alcohol 30 % during 60 minutes at the ratio of raw material : extragent 1:20, solution of aluminum chloride 5 % in solution of acetic acid 50 g/l in ethanol is added in twofold amount. The solution of acetic acid 50 g/l in 96 % ethanol is added in amount of 15 ml.
