METHOD FOR ISOLATING CARBOHYDRATE BIOPOLYMERS - MIMICRINS

A method for isolating carbohydrate biopolymers – mimicrins consists in culturing bacteria, pelleting the cells, and treating the supernatant. The culture medium is treated with ethanol thrice for precipitation. The precipitate is boiled and purified by gel-filtration. Then the hemagglutinin-related mimicrin is produced by affine chromatography on sepharose linked with immunoglobulin against hemagglutinin of influenza virus.
