METHOD FOR CLOSURE OF FISTULA OF STUMP OF MAIN BRONCHUS FOLLOWING PNEUMONECTOMY

A method for closure of the fistula of the stump of the main bronchus following pneumonectomy comprises thoracocentesis and installation of the obturator. The fibrobronchoscope is inserted into bronchus stump; the end of the sterile thread is passed with the forceps by thoracocentesis to the site of the fistula; the bronchoscopic forceps is passed through the canal of fibrobronchoscope for catching the end of the thread that is passed outside through the mouth. The thread is sewed to Medlung valve with tied-up lobes to close the internal canal. The second end of the thread is exteriorized via thoracocentesis. When the thread is pulled, the valve obturates the stump of the main bronchus. Finally, the thread is fixed to the skin of thorax.
