A method for assessment of the physical fitness in junior schoolchildren (6-12 years) comprises anthropometry (body weight, body height, circumference of the head and the thorax) and the analysis of the results using the empirical indices. The data are compared with the average values. When the values obtained are close to the average values, the fitness is considered as satisfactory. When the values are significantly below, the fitness is considered as unsatisfactory.
