The method for the objective X-ray assessment of the thickness of inflammatory infiltrate in pyo-destructive complications of the lungs in AIDS patients provides for the calculations of the parameters in X-ray image. First, vertical and horizontal lines crossing in the center of the cavity are drawn in X-ray image. The thickness of inflammatory infiltrate is measured at four points. The average value is calculated (I index). Then Shvedel index is measured. Later, two oblique and two horizontal lines are drawn dividing each lung to six quadrants. When pathological process involves up to two quadrants, the average infiltration thickness is not more than the width of the right pulmonary artery, the thickness of the inflammatory infiltration is up to and inflammatory infiltration is considered as grade I. When pathological process involves 3-4 quadrants, the average infiltration thickness is within two widths of the right pulmonary artery, the thickness of the inflammatory infiltration is 17- and inflammatory infiltration is considered as grade II. When pathological process involves more than 4 quadrants, the average infiltration thickness is more than two widths of the right pulmonary artery, the thickness of the inflammatory infiltration is more than and inflammatory infiltration is considered as grade III.
