A method for the determination of zones of increased filtration of earth dams (dikes) wherein the profiles are arranged along the long axis of the dam with investigation of the natural pulse electromagnetic field of Earth (NPENFE), with determination in layout of the boundaries of the sites of the processes of compression and extension of earths of the body of the dam. The profiles are arranged at distance of 2-3 m one from another, in number not less than 5. Measurement of density of flux of the pulses of magnetic component of the pulse electromagnetic field of Earth is carried out at profiles with spacing of 2-3 m in the range of low frequencies from 1 to 25 kHz simultaneously with three antennas. One of those is oriented vertically downwards, and two other ones horizontally and normally with respect to each other by orientation “north-south” and “west-east” at distance of 0.2-0.4 from the surface of the body of the dam. Outline maps of flux density of pulses of magnetic component of NPENFE just at the object of investigation are plotted, with highlighting the potential zones of distortion and increased filtration of water through the body of the dam.
