TECHNIQUE FOR SAMPLING BONE MARROW FROM FEMUR IN EXPERIMENTAL ANIMALS

The technique for sampling the bone marrow from femur in the experimental animals relates to the scientific modeling. The procedure is performed in rats or rabbits following the general anesthesia with the mixture of Xylazine (Sedazin, , ) and Ketamine (Calypsol, Gedeon Richter A.., ). The lateral surface of femur is skeletonized, the trough-shaped window is generated down to the cavity of diaphysis by the sequential milling along the bone and connecting the openings by spherical dental drill. The bone marrow is sampled with the stomatological paddle. The bone defect is closed with the surgical wax or other non-toxic solidifying material. Then the final stages of operation follow.
