METHOD FOR THORACOTOMY IN EXTENDED SURGICAL THORACIC INTERVENTIONS

The method for thoracotomy in extended surgical thoracic interventions comprises layer-by-layer dissection of the subcutaneous fat with superficial fascia, latissimus dorsi, intercostal muscles, internal thoracic fascia and pleura in decubitus position of the patient (on the healthy side with the cushion at the level of the pectoral muscles. Then the principal stage of the surgery follows. The skin is incised from paravertebral line at 2 cm below the angle of scapula and to the anterior axillary line. The aponeurosis of the serratus anterior is cut. The rib 5 is resected subtotally and the pleural cavity is opened. Following the principal stage of the surgery, the stump of the resected rib is covered with hemostatic sponge and oxidized regenerated cellulose. The thoracotomic wound is sutured with filaments with long term resorption.
