A METHOD OF MONITORING A DENSITY OF PINE STANDS

摘要

A method of monitoring a density of pine stands includes measurement of height and diameter of model trees on the level of first dead and first living knots, as well as in the middle of knottiness zone, followed by calculation of volume of trunks zones depending on knottiness. The quality of wood is determined according to a ratio of these areas. Diameters of long branches at the place of insertion and angles of ingrowth to the trunk are additionally measured.
