Computer-based system with a graphical interface to record pain and discomfort experiences in ways that provide better opportunities than known technologies to grade and define such experiences and to collect, store and analyse such data. physical and mental fatigue, state of mind, emotional discomfort, depression, anxiety, stress, hunger, thirst, bipolar conditions etc. By using smart phones, pads or personal computers for logging data, collection data of can be done with high compliance, high accuracy and a minimum of effort. scales,results of different studies can be compared with others with a high degree of confidence. By using Internet or LAN for transfer of data directly from subjects to the server used for data analysis, several confounding factors can be avoided. Pain and physical discomfort is registered as coordinates by marking positions in illustrations of a human body and indicated with standardised icons for different pain modalities and with intensity or degree by marking on a digital Visual Analoguee Scale. Mental and emotional ratings are marketed on a digital Visual Analogue Scale and bipolar conditions and physical comfort are marketed on a bipolar version of a digital Visual Analogue Scale analogue scale where a centre point is indicated for "neutral".which can be controlled from the server or set by the subject or user in the client, the intervals for data collections can be controlled and the reminder function will alert the subject or user when logging should be done. This system has advantages compared to prior art in scientific studies as well as clinical work and can be used for diagnostics, as well as evaluation of treatment and rehabilitation. For private use it can be useful for both diagnostic purposes and for evaluation of different factors ranging form food and beverages to life style and physical exercise,intake of substances and sleep hygiene and personal relations etc. It can also be used to keep track of medication compliance and as reminder to take medication, both for research purposes and for the benefit of the user.
