Device for upgrading a fibre line (w);produced in a paper or paperboard machine, the device incorporates a press waltz (3) designed to face a counter waltz (2) consisting of a heated counter-waltz, preferably a Yankee cylinder, forming a press clip (N2) by means of the aforementioned device; and where the fibre strip (w) is brought into contact with the mantle of the said counter-waltz (2) at a distance (Dl) before an entrance to the said press clip (N2) seen in the machine direction MD of the paper or cardboard machine;which is achieved by incorporating an additional reel (1) which is designed to face the said counter-reel (2) in a position before the said press reel (3) seen in the machine direction MD of the paper machine, forming a first press clip NI by the said insert. According to the invention, the press choice (3) is a long-term choice with an internal press body.
