A method of mapping port correspondence of an optical fiber network device, comprising the steps of: providing (202) a first optical fiber network device (18); configuring (204) the first optical fiber network device, the method being characterized in that the stage consisting of the configuration (204) comprises: having a plurality of optical fibers (F1- in the first optical fiber network device) Fm) optically coupled to a distribution cable (12), a first branch port (28), a first transfer port (32), a first level splitter (42) and a second level splitter (44); routing first predetermined optical fibers between the plurality of optical fibers (F2-F4) to the first transfer port (32) in accordance with a port mapping mapping scheme; route a second predetermined optical fiber between the plurality of optical fibers (F1) towards the first level splitter (42) in accordance with the port mapping mapping scheme, wherein the first level splitter (42) is usable to divide an optical signal transmitted by the first predetermined optical fiber (F1) from among the plurality of optical fibers in a plurality of optical signals transmitted by a plurality of first divided optical fibers (F1-1, ... F1-8) at the output of the first level divisor (42); route first predetermined optical fibers between the plurality of first divided optical fibers (F1-2, ..., F1-8) to the first transfer port (32) in accordance with the port mapping mapping scheme; route a second predetermined optical fiber from the plurality of first divided optical fibers (F1-1) to the second level splitter (44) in accordance with the port mapping mapping scheme, where the second level splitter (44 ) is usable to divide the optical signal transmitted by the second predetermined optical fiber from among the plurality of first divided optical fibers (F1-1) into a plurality of optical signals transmitted by predetermined optical fibers of the second optical fibers divided into (F1- 1-1, ... F1-1-4) at the output of the second level splitter and route an optical fiber of the plurality of second split optical fibers (F1-1-1) to the branch port (28) accordingly with the map mapping scheme of the ports.
