The invention relates to a method of protection against wear of a thermostructural part made of a ceramic matrix composite material. Typically, a coating is carried out by the following steps: a) providing a mixture comprising colloidal silica, powder of a silico-aluminous and / or aluminous refractory ceramic material and water; b) at least one layer of the mixture is applied to the part; c) the drying of the layer is carried out; and d) the part is placed at a temperature above 1000 ° C, which allows the baking of the layer and to form an enamel coating.
