Disclosed is a passive residual heat removal systemand nuclear power plant equipment configured to alleviate arise in an internal pressure of a primary containment vessel,even if fluid line breakage of a reactor pressure vesseloccurs and for whatever reason, supply of a coolant to thereactor pressure vessel fails.This invention includes: a heat exchanger provided ata position higher than a primary containment vessel; acondensate storage tank disposed below the heat exchangerand above an upper end of a reactor core placed in a reactorpressure vessel; a non-condensate gas discharge lineconnected at a first end thereof to an upper section of thecondensate storage tank and at a second end thereof to asuppression pool; a second condensate discharge lineconnected at a first end thereof to a position below thatsection of the condensate storage tank to which the firstend of the non-condensate gas discharge line is connected,and at a second end thereof to the suppression pool; and acondensate return line connected at a first end thereof to aposition below that section of the condensate storage tankto which the first end of the second condensate dischargeline is connected, and at a second end thereof to a sideportion of the reactor pressure vessel, the side portionbeing above the upper end of the core.
