The invention includes a heat exchanger provided at a positionhigher than a primary containment vessel; a condensate storagetank disposed below the heat exchanger and above an upper endof a reactor core placed in a reactor pressure vessel; a non-condensategas discharge line connected to an upper section ofthe condensate storage tank and to a suppression pool; asecond condensate discharge line connected to a position belowthat section of the condensate storage tank to which a firstend of the non-condensate gas discharge line is connected, andto the suppression pool; and a condensate return lineconnected to a position below that section of the condensatestorage tank to which a first end of the second condensatedischarge line is connected, and to a side portion of thereactor pressure vessel, the side portion being above theupper end of the core.
