Disclosed is a method for choosing a decode-and-forward (DF) type relay node (RN) for user equipment (UE), comprising: grouping UE which is ready for performing network coding (NC) according to the communication quality of the UE; selecting a UE group one by one, selecting UE from the selected UE group, and choosing a corresponding DF type RN for the UE according to a rule for choosing a DF type RN; and again according to a rule for selecting UE, selecting corresponding UE for the chosen DF type RN respectively from each of other UE groups except the selected UE group. Disclosed at the same time is a device for choosing a DF type RN for UE. The present invention can be adopted to ensure the service throughput of a cell, and further ensure the frequency spectrum efficiency of edge UE of the cell.
