The invention relates to weight measuring techniques and can be used for weighing motor vehicles as they are moving along a road. The method is carried out with the aid of a system that contains two groups of sensors for the wheel-load weighing or axle-load weighing of a motor vehicle, said sensors being positioned on a road at a distance from one another in the direction of travel, wherein said distance is not less than the maximum possible length of the motor vehicle to be weighed. Measurement readings are recorded in the form of the readings of each of the sensors in each group as it is driven over by each of the wheels or each axle of a given motor vehicle. The average values of the measurement readings corresponding to a specific wheel or axle of the motor vehicle are found and taken as the final readings of the weight of the wheel or axle in question. The appropriate corrective coefficients are then calculated by comparing the weight readings for each wheel or axis, as measured by the sensors of each group of sensors, with the corresponding average values ascertained, said calculated corrective coefficients then being used to correct readings when the next motor vehicle is weighed. The technical result is a simpler design and increased measurement accuracy when using low-accuracy sensors.
