When the tile spacer is used the detachable shaft establishes a consistent level grout line between adjacent laid tiles and the plate wedge is laterally substantially fixable about the lower portion of the detachable shaft. The wedge plate is slotted between the bottom of the barrel portion of the tile spacer head and the adjacently laid tiles such that when the tile spacer head is rotated downwards the rotational force is converted to a non-rotating push down force upon the plate wedge so as to eliminate or reduce lippage between the adjacently laid tiles without any substantial scratching, grinding, tile sealant deterioration and/or scuffing.1/7 14 Fig. l a
