A method for producing a package for rod-shaped smoking articles by which is produced a package for rod-shaped smoking articles in which a box body holds filtered cigarettes and an upper part of an inner frame (5) is projected out from an opening of an upper part of the box body, wherein the method comprises a bending step for bending part of an inner frame blank (12), to serve as the inner frame (5) of the package for rod-shaped smoking articles, which was formed by cutting a sheet of blank web (BW) with a cutter roller (43), and forming a collar (7); and a box production step for bending a sheet of body blank (11) with a folding turret (27) and forming the box body of the package for rod-shaped smoking articles, the bending step comprising blowing gas into the inner frame blank (12) using an air blower device (51) and bending part of the inner frame blank (12) to form the collar (7).
