Disclosed are a system and method for providing online prizes for a credit card service or promotional event. The system comprises: a credit card company server for approving the use of a credit card; a smartphone for receiving usage detail information or a giveaway event number of the approved credit card from the credit card company server, downloading a giveaway application through a QR scan, and executing the giveaway application, inputting the personal information of a user on the executed giveaway application to store the personal information, inputting the received usage detail information or giveaway event number of the credit card, executing a prize lottery game on the giveaway application, and, if the result is that user wins the prize lottery game, automatically transmitting the stored personal information for receiving the prize; and a prize providing server for providing the giveaway application to the smartphone, and receiving and managing the stored personal information to provide a prize.
