A lead-free, environmentally-friendly, high-strength, wear-resistant, copper-based alloy bar, consisting of the following components by weight percent: 1%-3% of manganese, 2%-4% of tin, 0.01%-0.5% of phosphorus, 1.5%-4.5% of zinc and the balance being copper. The copper-based alloy bar has the abrasion resistance property of a conventional lead-bronze alloy, and can be used for hot machining, thus having better machinability than the conventional lead-bronze alloy.
