The method involves installing a brake supplying source (3) with a set of rail brakes (1) to an energy supply (5). An electrical connection between the rail brakes and the brake supplying source is provided by an electrical sequential circuit (2) before entry of a drain outlet in the rail brakes, and is disconnected by the rail brakes after completion of run through. Current intensity is adjusted based on a braking parameter in the brake supplying source that is electrically connected with the rail brakes. An independent claim is also included for a gravity shunting marshalling system comprising rail brakes.
