A flat metal particle dispersion liquid containing metal particles (A) with a flat shape and having a principal surface that is triangular, hexagonal, or circular in shape, and metal particles (B) having a shape other than a flat shape and having a principal surface that is triangular, hexagonal, or circular in shape, with the content ratio of the metal particles (B) having an equivalent circle diameter of 40 nm or more being 30% or less by number of the total of the metal particles (A) and the metal particles (B), which enables a heat-ray-shielding material having both excellent heat-shielding capability and excellent visible light transmittance to be manufactured.
