Disclosed is a method for joining second generation ReBCO high temperature superconductors. The method removes stabilizing layers of two strands of high temperature superconductors through chemical wet etching or plasma dry etching, enables the surfaces of the layers of the two high temperature superconductors to directly contact each other, and heats the two high temperature superconductors at a vacuum state in a heat treatment furnace to partially micro-melt the surfaces of the high temperature superconductor layers to mutually diffuse the atoms, thus joining the surfaces of the layers of the two superconductors.
