A Chinese medicine for treatment of common cold and a preparation method for the medicine. The Chinese medicine is prepared using Bupleurum, honeysuckle flowers, bamboo leaves, Agastache rugosa, Magnolia officinalis, Forsythia suspensa, Scutellaria baicalensis, and Crataegus, where the mass ratio of the constituents is: Bupleurum:honeysuckle flowers:bamboo leaves:Agastache:Magnolia officinalis:Forsythia suspensa:Scutellaria baicalensis:Crataegus = 3:2:2:1:2:4:4:2. The preparation method for the Chinese medicine comprises: mixing the constituents according to the mass ratio and soaking by adding water, where the advisable amount of water should allow the medicinal herbs to be submerged, soaking for 20 minutes, then adding water for the second time, where the volume of water added in the second time is half of the volume of water added in the previous time, bringing to a boil with a roaring fire then decocting for 10 minutes with a simmering fire, and removing herbal dregs to complete the process.
