An objective of the present invention is, in a circumstance wherein a user wishes to receive assistance, to allow said assistance to be received promptly and with ease. Provided is an information processing device (1), comprising: a display means capable of at least displaying an icon; a manipulation receiving means for receiving a manipulation of a user with respect to a display screen whereupon the icon is displayed; and an information processing means for executing an information process according to the manipulation which is received with the manipulation receiving means. Monitoring is carried out for whether a predetermined assistance condition has been achieved for a manipulation circumstance of the user in a manipulation means and/or an operating circumstance of the information processing device. When the achievement of the assistance condition is identified, an assistance icon is displayed in the display means to display assistance information, and the assistance information is displayed when a manipulation with respect to the assistance icon is received.
