Disclosed are a method and device for detecting electric power load forecasting accuracy. The method comprises: acquiring a historical load time sequence; performing time-frequency conversion on the data in the time sequence, so as to acquire frequency domain decomposition results; combining the frequency domain decomposition results according to periodicity, so as to obtain a low-frequency component and a high-frequency component; according to the historical load time sequence, the low-frequency component and the high-frequency component, determining historical load stability; and according to the historical load stability, judging whether the electric power load forecasting accuracy meets a preset condition or not. Because the historical load stability reflects the regularity of the load change of the area to a certain extent, it can be used as an evaluation standard of the electric power load forecasting accuracy, and then the corresponding electric power load forecasting accuracy can be determined according to the conditions of different areas.
