The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical or food composition which reduces the side effects so as to be safe and which is highly active for stimulating enteroendocrine cells. The composition comprises, as an effective ingredient, Oldenlandia brachypoda extract, Spergularia marina extract, Disporum smilacinum extract, Persicaria posumbu extract,and/or Geum aleppicum extract. The composition of the present invention can be effectively used as a pharmaceutical or food composition for prevention and alleviation of diabetes, alleviation of heart diseases, alleviation of arteriosclerosis, alleviation or treatment of digestive disorders and malabsorption, anti-obesity or appetite suppression, neuroprotective effects, treatment or alleviation of liver diseases or the like. In addition, the composition of the present invention can promote the secretion of GLP-1, CCK or 5-HT, or activation of hTGR5, and can be used as a TRP, TRPA1, G protein and PLCß2 active agent.
