Provided in the present invention are the use of an SP peptide or derivatives thereof in the preparation of drugs for lowering the level of IL-13 in patients, wherein the peptide or the derivatives thereof are SP peptides or pharmaceutically acceptable salts or esters thereof as shown in formula I. Research in the present invention confirms that the peptide or the derivatives thereof can effectively lower the level of IL-13 in patients. Xaal-Gln-Xaa2-Xaa3-Thr-Ser-Gly-Xaa4 (formula I), wherein Xaa1 is absent, Ala, Gly, Val, Leu or Ile, Xaa2 is Thr or Ser, Xaa3 is Tyr, Phe or Trp, and Xaa4 is absent, Ala, Gly, Val, Leu, Ile or Pro.
