A method and system for performing a multimedia conference notification service between an NGN and an IMS. The method for a gateway to transmit a multimedia conference notification service message between the IMS and the NGN comprises: receiving a conference subscription message sent by a multimedia conference service application server of one party of the IMS and the NGN; and forwarding the conference subscription message to the multimedia conference service application server of the other party thereof. The embodiments of the present invention achieve that a connection is established between a user of one party of the IMS and the NGN and an application server (AS) of a network of the other party thereof.
