The invention relates to a method for producing a composite body (11) and to a corresponding composite body (11) for a valuable document and/or security document. The following steps are provided in order to produce such a composite body (11): providing several substrate layers (1); introducing recesses (4) and/or through-holes (6) into at least of the several substrate layers (1); filling at least some of the recesses (4) and/or through-holes (6) with a filling material (5), which has a not only optical perceptible deviating property with respect to the material of the at least one substrate layer of the several substrate layers (1); bringing together the several substrate layers (1) to form a substrate layer stack in such a way that a top substrate layer (1-1) of the substrate layers brought together has an upper outer top side that faces away from a bottom substrate layer or the other substrate layers and that has no recesses (4) and/or through-holes (6) and a bottom substrate layer (1-2) of the substrate layers brought together has a lower outer bottom side that faces away from the top substrate layer or the other substrate layers (1) and that has no recesses (4) and/or through-holes (6); and thus the at least partially filled recesses (4) and/or through-holes (6) are arranged inside the substrate layers (1) brought together, wherein the substrate layers (1) are all provided or have been produced as substrate layers that are produced on the basis of the same thermoplastic polymer material, wherein the substrate layers (1) brought together are joined in a high-temperature, high-pressure lamination process to form a monolithic composite.
