The utility model relates to the field of machining materials by cutting and can be used for machining helical surfaces by rotational turning; the utility model solves the problem of broadening the technological capabilities of a cutting tool during rotational turning. A seating surface is pressed against a mating surface of the shaft of a rotating cutting tool via a central stepped cylindrical bore; during cutting, a cutting edge removes the machined material while constantly rotating under the effect of the cutting force owing to the presence of an angle of inclination of the cutting edge; the curved shape of a side surface makes it possible to achieve smaller sizes of the shaped surface profile and widens the range of product dimension types; due to the presence of a groove, a top surface provides for better chip removal, thus improving the cutting process when machining hard-to-cut materials.
