The projectile has orientation rings (5) provided in control surfaces (2) and displaced towards a plane (P) perpendicular to a longitudinal axis (X). The rings are rotated around its center parallel to the axis. Each ring has an arm (6) whose longitudinal groove (77) is engaged with a lever (3) that is secured to the surface to pivot the surface around a pivot axis (7) during movement of the ring. The displacement of the ring is ensured by a positioning unit (8) that positions the center of the ring in the plane relative to an absolute reference mark centered on the longitudinal axis. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling control surfaces of a projectile.
