Disclosed is the use of an asparagus powder in medicines for the treatment of anxiety and depressive mental disorders, and in food and health foods, with the content of active ingredients contained in the asparagus powder being as follows: 15.0% or more of asparagus saponin, 8% or more of a polysaccharide, 3.0% or more of a polyphenol, and 2.0% or more of a flavone.
