Video data is verified at a high speed with less resources.;A video processing apparatus (100) includes a storage unit (110), an input unit (120), and a determining unit (130). The storage unit (110) stores a plurality of scenes included in a scene group (111) and characteristic amounts which are extracted from a series of plural frames included in the respective scenes in the scene group (111), in association with each other, defining one scene out of the plurality of scenes included in the scene group (111) as a typical scene (112) and the other scenes as a derived scene (113), the scene group (111) being a group of a plurality of scenes derived from a common scene. The input unit (120) inputs a characteristic amount which is extracted from each of the frames of a new scene. The determining unit (130) determines whether the new scene represented by the inputted characteristic amount is the derived scene of the scene group (111) or not by verifying the inputted characteristic amount with the characteristic amount of the typical scene (112) of the scene group stored in the storage unit.
